Meet Our Directors
Co-founders Fran Baxter and Marcela Lapertosa are intercultural learning practitioners who have built their expertise and reputation by delivering valued learning experiences and high quality projects to address the needs of some of the world's leading intercultural learning and education organisations. Together they manage a series of government, industry and educational projects.
Fran Baxter
Executive Director
An intercultural educator with a passion for learning, Fran has a deep desire to build greater intercultural skills with groups, individuals and organisations. With more than 25 years’ experience in international education, intercultural learning and student mobility, she designs and facilitates learning programs delivered in Australia and across the globe.
Marcela Lapertosa
Director of Education
A Cross Cultural Psychologist with a passion for fostering intercultural understanding, Marcela is also a master facilitator and trainer who has travelled the world leading the development and delivery of global competence curricula, intercultural learning and leadership training to diverse audiences.

Eloise Dolan
Associate Director,
Business Development
Eloise is responsible for expanding our reach in 2023. She oversees the management and delivery of the Globally Engaged Learners Program and coordinates our Standing Offer of Arrangement with Queensland’s Department of Education.
Nishita Mehta
Program Manager
A skilled program manager, based in India, Nishita is passionate about enabling and empowering individuals, especially high-school students, with global competence and intercultural skills required for a sustainable future.
Sophia Fuller
Communications
A digital marketing and video production expert, Sophia combines her passion for Indonesia, youth and digital marketing to assist in promoting and building relationships across cultures.
Rosie Murphy
Digital Marketing
A skilled digital marketer with a Bachelor of Global Studies in Human Rights and Indonesian Studies, Rosie is passionate about Australia-Indonesia relations and sharing her media skills.
Shari Towns
AIYEP Program Assistant
Shari has pursued intercultural learning since her involvement in AFS Intercultural Programs during high school. Now, Shari utilises her intercultural communication skills across AIYEP, the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership, and her Bachelor of Asian Studies.

As a teacher of German and English, Vicki has a passion for language, intercultural communication and helping students become effective global citizens.

Working with global organisations at a senior level, Jen delivers solutions that drive people capability. Jen is passionate about helping people strive toward achieving their full potential.
Barb Durance
Consultant / Facilitator
Our website consultant, Barb also has global experience in delivering a range of intercultural programs for youth, families and adults for multinationals and NGOs. She is President of Friends of AFS in Australia.
Anggie Hall
Facilitator
Anggie is an experienced cross-cultural facilitator and trainer with over 15 years of experience working with both local and international companies. People, culture, designing and delivering training have always been her passion.
Reece Moir
Facilitator
The Engagement Lead at Australian Youth Affairs Coalition and Secretary of Friends of AFS in Australia. Reece has worked as a facilitator with state and federal governments.
