AIYEP Internships

Organisations in Australia and Indonesia support the Australia-Indonesia Youth Program ( AIYEP) by offering participants  a short term work experience placement.

In 2023, we are seeking businesses in Canberra to host AIYEP participants from Indonesia on a

three-week internship from 13 November to 1 December.

Internship is a key learning experience for AIYEP participants. Australian and Indonesian businesses offer in-country placements to individual participants who work on a project for three weeks. Fostering the cross cultural learning aspects of the program, Indonesian participants are hosted by Australian businesses while Australian participants undertake their internship with an Indonesian business.

AIYEP participants come from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds. Value Learning supports each business to develop suitable workplan while guiding participants on workplace norms and expectations. The organisations listed below have offered past and possible internship placements to AIYEP.

About AIYEP

The Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) is a fully funded program sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, offering the opportunity for young people aged 21-25 from Indonesia and Australia to spend time in both countries learning about each other's cultures, and expanding their personal and professional network across the Australia-Indonesia diplomatic, academic and business world.

Why offer Internship

For Australian businesses this program offers the opportunity to engage in a high quality personal, cultural and professional exchange, sharing their experience of diverse aspects of Australian work culture with young representatives from Indonesia. In 2023, this experience will take place over three weeks in Canberra and participants are expected to engage in 30 hours of work per week during the full time internship.
